The certified wooden frames are the most correct choice in energy saving, as they save<\/strong> in a house 8%-10% energy<\/strong> in relation to other frames, but also in accordance with the requirements of the \u00abExoikonomo – Autonomo\u00bb<\/strong> since:<\/p>\n

They contribute positively to the protection of the environment since carbon dioxide is captured during the production of wood, with the raw material coming from forests managed according to the principle of sustainability. In addition, they have the highest thermal insulation performance and do not require thermal insulation systems, since the wood itself is the most insulating material, while ensuring high sound insulation performance. In terms of certification, they are CE certified, which ensures the safety and hygiene of consumers, without requiring special care since they are produced with modern methods.<\/p>\n

Another great benefit is the low cost, especially if we consider the energy they save for a household, their long lifespan and their high aesthetics.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The International Environmental Protection Agency WWF<\/strong>, calculates that the production of each window produced from PVC, releases<\/strong> totally49,9 kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2).<\/strong> On the other hand, similar problems are encountered in the manufacture of aluminium. Hazardous pollutants are released during its production and large amounts of CO2<\/strong> are released during the production of the very large amounts of energy needed to isolate the material from its raw materials. In contrast, the production of a wooden frame of the same type and size releases a total of only 5.7 kg of CO2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also, the production process of wooden frames does not create risks of ecological disaster (see for example the ecological disaster caused by an aluminium factory a few years ago in Hungary, where ten people died from toxic sludge leaking from the factory’s cracked tank. The red torrent covered an area of 40 square kilometres and polluted the Danube.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The most appropriate material, in terms of thermal insulation, for the construction of frames is wood. Compared to metals, the thermal insulation<\/strong> capacity<\/strong> of wood<\/strong> is 4,000 times greater<\/strong> than that of aluminium<\/strong> and 1,800 times greater<\/strong> than that of steel<\/strong>. The use of wooden frames in a building automatically reduces the energy consumption it will need to heat in winter or cool in summer.
